Maximizing Your Adsense Revenue

Published by admin | Filed under Google Adsense

More and more webmasters are starting to see the revenue potential of adding adsense ads to their website. Using adsense, web masters can have instant ’set it and forget it’ marketing. All the work that is required is for the user to copy the code into their website or blog and adsense will automatically scan each page for its content. Then, adsense will display targetted ads based on what each page is about. Depending on what keywords appear in the ads, the webmaster will get a certain amount of money for each click.

However, generating revenue with adsense requires a bit of work.

The first thing thats important for earning adsense revenue is of course traffic. Without traffic - no one is seeing your adsense ads. If no one sees your adsense ads - you will get no clicks. If you get no clicks - you become one sad internet marketer when the money doesn’t come in. So make sure you are constantly trying to find ways to drive targetted traffic to your website.

If you have a blog, a good way to get traffic to your website is through articles and social bookmarking. Through keyword research you can find some good long-tail keywords that relate to what your blog is about and write articles about them. In the resource box of the article, let the readers know there is more great information to be found at your blog. Also, after submitting your article, you can bookmark it to increase the popularity of the article and to possibly generate some direct traffic.

Once the visitor gets to your page, you have an entirely different task. Your goal now is to keep the reader interested and engaged in your website. You can accomplish this through the website design and navigation. Whenever you post a link, don’t just post something such as ‘click here’. You want to make your anchor text for links as descriptive as possible to grab the reader’s attention. If the link is on the main page, try to make it fit naturally in with the text. Usually, your link can fit perfectly in a couple of the words of the sentence that leads to it. Be creative.

Ideally, you want the visitor to read as much content on your website as possible. This is why you want to link related posts/topics from each page you post. This way if the visitor is interested in finding out more about what they read, they can easily find other things you have written that deal with the same issue or a related issue.

The next thing you want to keep in mind is the keywords you use for each page. Research which keywords pay more than other keywords. Then you can go through and create new posts dealing with the topic of these keywords, or add them to your exsisting posts. Maximizing your adsense revenue is all about knowing which keywords work the best with your category, so you should be constantly researching and testing different combinations of keywords. Keep what works, and make changes to what doesn’t. If you have a website with a lot of good content, a few keyword changes can bring in loads of extra revenue.
